The power of meditation is possibly limitless. From a medical standpoint it is one of the most powerful tools for reducing inflammation available. It’s free and it’s easy, despite the public view that it takes great effort and practice to properly meditate. Mediation is an effortless exercise and there is no right or wrong. The hard part, and the reason most people think of meditation as being something unattainable letting go of resistance to what is. Most of our discomfort is due to the reaction to what is.

Eckhart Tolle in one of his books says and I quote “it’s not so bad to be uncomfortable if you don’t mind being uncomfortable.” When you let of the reaction to pain, layers of pain often completely disappear. There may still be pain, but by allowing the pain or, even better, welcoming the pain…we open up a door to deeper healing from within. The dis-ease is not a problem that is there to fix, it is a message from your unconscious self that there is something to learn.

There is something happening in the mind or the emotions that are not being fully heard and the message is coming through the body because it’s much harder to ignore the messages in the body. If you’ve ever experienced sciatic pain or migraine HA you know that this is not something you can ignore for long. They can be debilitating. One solution is to mask these symptoms or suppress these symptoms with medications…BUT then we often see the message show up in a new way and some new dis-ease or symptom shows up to make sure you have another opportunity to evolve. That’s all these messages are…invitations….invitations to evolve, to heal, and to grow.

Meditation is the one best way to develop a relationship with Self that will allow you to access the awareness necessary to be present and hear the messages in your body and access the courage and the strength to choose a new way, to chose to let go of pain and disease, to chose to be in a loving relationship with Self.
